The 2022 National Symposia on Adolescent and Young Adult Male Health were a follow-up to the successful 2018 National Summit on Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Male Health. The 2022 symposia are a series of 2 hour virtual presentations and discussions on conditions for which adolescent and young adult (AYA) males[1] are at particularly high risk. These videos are available below as well as at our YouTube Page. These risks include those within the health domain as well as those within other socio-economic domains. The purpose of the series is to explore those risks with the objective of identifying ways to address them through collaborative action. A series of recommendations for action will be derived from the proceedings.
Faculty for each symposium consist of nationally recognized experts in their fields. The live sessions took place over the period of June 2022 through October 2022 and are available online.
The intended audience is broad, to include groups from parents to policymakers to providers.
The virtual series consists of discussions in the following subject areas.
Subjects mirror those covered in season one of PMY’s 2022 podcast series “Let’s Examine This: Unpacking Young Male Health” consisting of eight sessions, directed at parents and other caregivers.
[1] Defined as those between the ages of 10 and 25. The symposia will focus on late adolescent and young adult males, or those between ages 14 and 25.
