Youth

Adolescent and young adult males have a unique opportunity to shape their future by paying attention to their health today. Far from being a burden, this awareness is a form of empowerment—an investment in their strength, confidence, and independence. Issues like sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including chlamydia and HIV, are more common among young males than many realize, often because early symptoms go unnoticed or unreported. Taking control through regular checkups, safe sexual practices, and honest conversations can protect not just your own health, but the health of partners and peers as well. It’s about being proactive, informed, and ready to lead. Mental health, too, is a cornerstone of overall well-being, yet it’s often sidelined by cultural pressures that tell young men to tough it out.

The truth is, conditions like depression, anxiety, and suicide disproportionately affect young males, in part because they are less likely to seek help. Recognizing when something feels off and knowing where to turn can make a life- changing difference. When young men engage with their mental health—whether through talking with a friend, a counselor, or simply taking time to reflect—they’re not showing weakness; they’re building resilience. Caring for body and mind is not just about avoiding problems—it’s about thriving.
